Jack McBride

Rosa Parks

at her booking in Montgomery, AL, on December 1, 1955, after refusing to give up her seat on a bus for a white passenger. The first ten rows of the bus were reserved for whites only. Rosa was sitting in the eleventh row, one designated for “coloreds.” Click here to learn more about her.
